You probably don't pick a DJ
everyday...
Choosing a DJ for your homecoming or
prom isn't easy. All DJs have different strengths
and weaknesses and no two DJs are exactly alike.
There are also DJs at every different price level.
Believe it or not, there are DJs in Katy who would
love to do your prom for $150. Others would charge over
$5,000. Both would claim to be "the best prom DJ
in Katy!"
How do you separate fact from
fiction? Ask every DJ you talk to these questions,
and you'll figure out who is really qualified to
entertain at your prom and who isn't.

How many school dances
and proms has the DJ that will be at my prom
performed at?
|
 |
All of our DJs have
performed for at least 50 school dances or
proms. Most have done over a hundred.
|
 |
Some of the large
wedding DJ companies in Katy use school
dances as the training ground for their new and
inexperienced DJs. Just because the
company has school dance experience doesn't mean
the individual DJs do! Make sure you find
out exactly who your DJ will be and how much
experience that DJ has. Every DJ has a
first prom. You just want to make sure it
isn't your prom!

Are you local? Am
I talking to someone in a local office?
|
 |
Absolutely! We're
in the Katy Area near the intersection of Grand
Parkway and the Westpark Tollway.

I know this seems like a
silly question. Believe it or not, there
are several nationwide DJ services that aren't
DJ services at all. They advertise on the
internet, typically using paid Google ads.
These companies book as many dates as they can
THEN worry about finding DJs to cover them.
These companies charge below average rates, and
want to pay DJs half the contract price (or
less.) Hire them and it's very likely
you'll end up paying $495 to $1,295 for a $200
DJ you could have hired off Craigslist yourself
- if a DJ shows up at all. These companies
have an unbelievable number of BBB complaints.

 |
Can you provide pictures
of the actual setup you'll be bringing to my
event?
|
 |
We're happy to!
|
 |
A lot of DJ services use
generic terms to describe their shows.
They'll say things like "high energy sound and
light show" that can mean almost anything.
Here's a picture of an another DJ service's
actual setup in a school gym. Two small
speakers and two inexpensive (under $100)
lighting effects sitting on the floor.

 |
Do you carry backup
gear?
|
 |
Everything in our shows
is backed up! No single failure can
compromise your event.
|
 |
It's astounding how many
Katy DJs apparently think they own the one computer
that can never crash or the one amplifier that
will never burn up. Schools usually tell
us why they were unhappy with their old DJ when
they hire us. Way too often, it's because the
old DJ's equipment failed, ending their last
event early.
